One way of thinking about your studying habits...
- Avoid catastrophic thinking. Instead of thinking, “I’m a mess, I’ll never have enough time to study for this exam,” look at it like, “I may be a little late to study as much as I’d like, but since I’m doing it now, I’ll get most of it done.”
- Avoid absolute thinking. Instead of thinking “I always mess things up,” the more objective view is, “I didn’t do so well that time, what can I do to improve?”
- Avoid comparing yourself with others, because you usually just end up feeling bad about yourself.

October update
Good day families!

We are off to a great start in French this year!!
Grade 7's are working on a project called je m'appelle. They are representing information about themselves while reinforcing basic vocabulary. They are learning to combine words to create sentences while practicing their speech. During this project we are creating French silhouettes. Students pay tribute to this French artform by tracing their profile and putting it into their je m'appelle project.
Grade 8's are working hard on their project Ma famille. They are creating their own family trees. Don't be surprised if your child starts asking you questions in French. They are preparing a project by being detectives and asking questions. Each student needs to interview someone on their tree. Students will be practicing their speech of specific words and phrases.
They will also create French silhouettes for this project.
